K K Hebbar Gallery and Art Center (HGAC) is a space for creative expression, dedicated to the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan award winning artist, Sri K K Hebbar (1911-1996) and houses his portrait collection. HGAC is situated in the premises of the Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities, Manipal University. HGAC encourages cross-disciplinary engagement with artists and other cultural practitioners in and around the region of South Kanara and aims to develop a deeper and more meaningful relationship between the people, the student communities in the region and artists through tours, workshops, readings, screenings, performances and lecture demonstrations. The brand draws inspiration from Hebbar's famous minimalist line drawings in Black in White.
