The International Music and Arts Society was established to augment Bangalore’s existing cultural landscape by providing an international forum for Indian and foreign musicians and artistes. An important objective of the Society has been its work, through the medium of music and dance, to provide a platform for young and upcoming artists. The International Music and Arts Society was founded by Rani Vijaya Devi Kotda-Sangani in December 1974, on the suggestion of her brother, the late Maharaja of Mysore, Sri. Jayachamaraja Wadiyar.
